Coronavirus: death toll in France rises to 562

The new coronavirus pandemic left 112 dead in France on Saturday. Altogether, the country counts 562 victims and 6,172 hospitalized patients. About 220 French people in serious condition are undergoing resuscitation.

"We are rapidly evolving into a widespread epidemic in the territory, " said the Directorate-General for Health, which urged the population to "strictly respect confinement instructions and measures adopted by the government", such as washing hands.

According to the agency, more than 4,000 tests for coronavirus are performed daily . Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 60,000 have been carried out.

France accounts for more than 13,000 contagions and is one of the countries most affected in Europe by the Covid-19 pandemic, where the most tragic balance is in Italy , with 4,825 dead and about 53,600 infected.
