In the history of the FIFA World Cup, only two players have scored in four different editions - and both did so between 1958 and 1970.
The first member of this duo is perhaps obvious, with Pele the outstanding player of the era and arguably the star man at both the ‘58 and ‘70 editions.
The second, though, is a legend very much in his own right, and Germany’s Uwe Seeler not only beat Pele to become the first to reach this particular milestone, but is also the only player to have scored twice or more in four separate World Cups.
• The legendary Velibor ‘Bora’ Milutinovic not only coached at five FIFA World Cups between 1986 and 2002, but did so with five different teams: Mexico, Costa Rica, USA, Nigeria and China PR.
This latter feat was matched in 2010 by Carlos Alberto Parreira, who took charge of hosts South Africa in his sixth World Cup, having previously coached his native Brazil (twice), Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
Just behind this duo are the five men who coached at four different World Cups.
• To date, six of the 19 editions of the FIFA World Cup have been won by the host team.
