Clouds and networks

In a hyper-connected world, it is incredibly easy and quick disconnect from what really matters.

It is wonderful to be close to my grandson and friends children currently living in Seattle.WA
who change casual comments about almost everything about our vacation plans  etc.
. It's amazing to be able to travel and still can look forward to the relatives who stayed at home, and talk with eyes in their eyes, as if we were all together.
It's a dream to collaborate on a project with people who are 13 thousand miles away, pounding, swapping idea, with the chance of who is under the same roof, sitting at the same table.

But Facebook does not rain, nor sun does.
Skype is no more heat, you can not feel or embrace the smells and feel the gentle pulse of the other.
These little machines connect us to the world in an almost magical way - but they are not the world.
In reality, they take on the world.
. My mind is on another network, digital, connected in the same endless succession of photos of cute animals, funny videos and political disputes involving the rest of my days.

And then we were all connected to each other, each with its a gadget - but disconnect us, all of us in the world outside.
Turn clouds crossing the sky without touching the ground and the people on it. And it is here on the floor, hugging our loved ones, that life is lived.

I'm not falling for that. Not this time. I put the phone back in my pocket, looked at the friends around us.
No, wait, let me just post a photo on Instagram.
