HOW TO TRAIN YOUNG READERS

A book is a toy made with letters. Reading is playing 

 And that is what many adults concerned with the education of children, believe. The literature we all know, is one of the most important pillars in the education of children and youth. Is not it? 

Well, that's the opinion of writers, literary scholars, editors and many other adults who, by "addiction profession", are faithful to this doctrine. 

But what children and young people? Those who want to attract and win for multiple and fertile world of literature? It's easy to make them see this "truth"? 

Easy, not always. But possible, yes. For this, we must first pay attention to one of the words used in the previous paragraph: multiple. How? 

Know those who repudiate vampires and dystopias of literary fashion that undeniable good literature may not be the most effective way to win over young readers more reluctant, at least as far as good literature can be confused with established texts.

 The approach of the literary text to the reality of the reader (most effective way to communicate) also brought with it a certain rejection of the traditional repertoire of texts in the language of the work reflects the time it was generated. 

It is natural that rejection by children (if your child is an exception, consider yourself a lucky person!). If we want them to see the book as a fun toy and a text with many cryptic terms will not facilitate the task. And then comes the importance of multiplicity. The diversity of literary (and also non-literary) texts enables the child to discover (with our help) the text type that you like. That first acceptance of playfulness in reading is important. After conquered and passionate about books, whatever the gender of these, thousands of doors will open for the young reader, including those that will take you where parents and teachers from the beginning wanted to drive it: the world of good literature.
