The last Project Apollo astronaut on the moon

Between 1961 and 1972, NASA has coordinated a number of space missions aiming to put a man on the Moon.

Behalf of these missions was Apollo Project, and July 20, 1969, the Apollo 11 mission could land on lunar soil for the first time.

Despite several conspiracy theories claiming that the man on the moon not no thing, there were other manned Apollo missions to the famous natural satellite of the Earth.

The last one was in December 1972, the Apollo 17 mission commander Eugene's Andrew Cernan was the 11th man on the moon (his co-pilot Harrison Schmitt, was the 12th), and was also the last person to leave footprints there,

since he was the last to board the ship after 22 hours exploring the surface and collecting geological material.

The Apollo project was canceled soon after the return of this mission, for lack of funds and lack of interest of the public.

There have been other projects for the return of man to the moon, as the Constellation program, but so far they have been discontinued for lack of funds.

That is still enough to take the man back there.

And turn, will never be an iconic ship Apollo.
