Zoo in China replaces animals with inflatable prints
A newly opened zoo in the Chinese city of Yulin, known for its dog meat festival, has clinched on Chinese social networks this week for placing inflatable animals instead of real animals. The Guishan zoo advertisement said the site had experienced an "invasion of penguins," and that on November 25 and 26 it would have activities that could "educate visitors about living creatures."
A banner shows an ostrich, a peacock, a crocodile and penguins from the Madagascar animation with the phrase "Going to where on this weekend? A new zoo just opened - come visit. " Who went to the place wanting to see animals ended up coming across a comical situation. A photo posted on the Weibo social network shows six inflatable penguins on a lake, and, in another image, a solitary inflatable penguin on an island.
Other examples of animal life are roosters, geese, and an aquarium with a "longevity turtle" that is supposed to attract good luck. Visitors deposited coins and notes around the reptile. One user commented that he was amazed by the "rare, wild animals". Another user said, "Yes, they even have penguins! I laughed until my face had cramps. " Interestingly, in 2013, a Henan zoo put a Tibetan mastiff as an "African lion." The fraud was discovered when the dog began to bark.
