Four people were slightly injured and were taken to the hospital
A huge cruise ship lost control for an engine trouble and crashed against the pier on Sunday and against tour boat the moment would dock in Venice, Italian media reported.
The tourists, on the ground, started running when they watched the 13-story ship "MSC Opera" shaving the dock, with the motor making a lot of noise, before colliding with a boat tour, according to a video posted on Twitter.
Four people, who were aboard the tour boat River Countness ", were slightly injured in the accident, which happened in St. Basil-Zattere, on Giudecca Canal in Venice, and were taken to the hospital.
The "Opera", which has already presented mechanical problems in 2011 during a crossing through the Baltic, holds up to 2,500 passengers and has a theater, a dance hall and a water park for children.
"The ship MSC had an engine failure, the captain informed immediately," said Davide Jasmine, company director of tugboats responsible for monitoring the boat to the mooring.
The two tugs that took the boat to Giudecca tried to stop the cruise, which was gaining speed, but the chains that tied were broken by the pressure, added Jasmine, who said that the engine of "MSC Opera" was "locked".
