Amazon buys healthcare startup

Amazon announced on Wednesday that it has purchased startup Health Navigator in its second acquisition in the healthcare industry.
The deal comes after the company acquired the pillpack online pharmacy last year, pitting itself against drug store chains, drug distributors and pharmaceutical benefit managers.
The company said the acquisition is part of its new employee offering, Amazon Care, where ecommerce giant employees will be able to gain quick access to health facilities without having to schedule appointments.
Health Navigator was founded in 2014 by David Thompson, who is also its chief executive, and provides preliminary and final diagnosis and treatments on its digital platform.
The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
