At work, men are much more emotional than women
According to a new study published by TotalJobs, an online tool focused on job search, men are more sensitive in the workplace than women. The survey took into account reports of 2,000 British workers and was published on a company website on Wednesday (8).
According to the survey, men are 2.4 times more likely to be upset if their ideas are not heard compared to women. In addition, males were 60% more likely to feel negatively emotional when criticized.
On the other hand, they are more than twice as likely to cry in the workplace. While your other sex colleagues tend, by the way they deal with emotions, to scream, or resign, twice as often.
The most common cause of the appearance of feelings in this environment is interaction with colleagues. According to the survey, 33% of the emotional events reported were the result of the relationship with others, while only 20% were raised by tasks and duties.
But showing too many feelings can be negative, at least to those more employees, say, careerers. About 30% of the managers interviewed said they consider the expression of emotions at work a sign of weakness. More than half also said that feelings should be completely suppressed in the professional context.
