London Wax Museum separates Harry and Meghan from royal family

London's famous wax museum Madame Tussauds, which exhibits 250 large-scale reproductions of personalities from around the world, decided on Thursday (9) to separate Prince Harry, 35, and his wife, Meghan, 38, from the rest of the British royal family.

Less than a day after the couple announced the resignation of their royal duties, the museum decided to act to reflect this delicate moment for the country's monarchy.
"Starting today, Harry's characters will no longer appear at the facility that brings together Queen Elizabeth II with the other members of the royal family," museum director Steve Davies said in a statement.
The two characters, who are among the most popular, "will continue to be important elements of Madame Tussauds", clarifies the text, noting that the museum will closely monitor the evolution of this new "chapter of the couple".
Harry and Meghan, who have long expressed difficulties in enduring the media pressure their position implies, announced on Wednesday (8) that they will abandon their top-tier duties as members of the British royal family to spend more time in the North America.
In a message classified as "personal" and released in a historic statement from Buckingham Palace, Harry and former American actress Meghan Markle announced: "We intend to retire from the top tier of the royal family and work to acquire financial independence, while fully supporting His Majesty the Queen."
