Princes William and Harry show union despite "Megxit"

The princes demonstrated a common front before the crisis meeting convened by their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II

Princes William and Harry demonstrated a common front on Monday (13/1) before a crisis meeting convened by his grandmother, the Queen of England, after the earthquake caused by British royalty by the desire for independence of his younger grandson and his wife, ironically nicknamed "Megxit", the example of Brexit.

The meeting, which raises a huge expectation of the media, takes place at Elizabeth II's private residence in Sandringham, in the east of the country, closed to the press that has already met on site.

The monarch, her son Charles and his eldest grandson William - Harry's father and brother, respectively - must have a conversation heralded as tense and in which the latter's wife, Meghan, is expected to participate by phone after traveling last week to Canada Where he is with his eight-month-old son Archie.

It was not known whether the meeting had begun when the two brothers published an unusual joint statement denouncing "false information" about their relationship published on Monday in a British newspaper.

"The use of incendiary language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful," they said without specifying which newspaper they were referring to.

Citing a source close to the family, the Times said on Monday that Harry and Meghan considered themselves "rejected by what they considered an attitude of intimidation by the Duke of Cambridge," William.

These statements were refuted by sources close to both.

More subtle, the Sunday Times said william, 37, feels that he and his brother, united since the death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997, have distanced themselves greatly.

Viable solutions

Although they had been expressing their difficulties in supporting media pressure for some time, Harry's decision, 35 and sixth in line with succession, and Meghan, 38, a former American actress who left her career entering the royal family, rocked the country and shocked the clan Windsor. Especially since the couple, praised by some for their modernity and criticized by others for rebelling against the rules, but wanting to maintain privileges and noble titles, did not notify the family of their decision before causing the real earthquake.

The 93-year-old monarch, who recently had to deal with the scandal of her third son Andrew's friendship with the late American paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, called for "viable solutions" to be found quickly in this new crisis.

The Dukes of Sussex said they wanted to continue "supporting the Queen" - that is, they could represent her at official events or international travel - but at the same time leave the official media coverage system, divide her time between the UK and the North America and seek "financial independence", while keeping their home in Windsor and financial benefits.

The couple also registered the "Sussex Royal" brand, which covers from postcards to clothing, through consultancy or charity campaigns.

Money, bonds and businesses

According to the Sunday Times, the meeting will address financial issues - the couple's main income - noble bonds and the scope of business transactions they may carry out.

"These are complicated issues," Buckingham Palace said on Wednesday night, in an embarrassing reaction to the surprise announcement.
