Trump Senate Trial Process Begins

The seven representatives of the United States House of Representatives handed the impeachment process against President Donald Trump to the Senate on Thursday, 16. Following the planned ritual, Democratic Representative  Adam Schiff read from the gallery the two political crimes committed by the American leader - abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. With initiative, begins the process of Trump's trial by the senators, to be chaired by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, John Roberts. There is no deadline for its closure.
The trial opened just on the day that the Government Accountability Office, a control body linked to the Chamber of Deputies, concluded that Trump violated American law by suspending military assistance to Ukraine . This was the pressure tool of the American president to force the Ukrainian government to investigate the business of John Biden, his potential competitor in the 2020 elections, and his son Hunter.
The Chamber had approved the sending of the impeachment process to the Senate on Wednesday 15, with 228 votes in favor and 193 against. Trump's trial will tend towards his absolution, given the composition of the upper house. Republicans hold the majority of 53 of the 100 senators. Three of them, however, must vote for impeachment or abstain. To convict the president will take 66 votes - two-thirds of the floor.
