CORONAVIRUS: MILAN BECOMES GHOST TOWN AFTER CONFIRMED CASES OF THE DISEASE IN ITALY

Milan woke up this Monday (24th) practically deserted. The almost springtime climate - 20 degrees - but it was not enough to take a good part of the population out of the home. For almost 48 hours, hysteria has only increased due to the avalanche of confirmed cases of coronavirus not only in the Region of Lombardy, but throughout the country. The epidemic that has plagued China since the end of last year has already culminated in the death of 6 Italians, most of whom are elderly so far and more than 200 people infected.
Italy becomes the third country with the largest number of patients in Covid-19, after China and South Korea. According to the latest official government bulletin, 219 cases are recorded - this number includes the 6 victims fatal and those that are cured.
The battle, to stop what is already being called the Chinese bubonic plague, started on Sunday, when the government decreed a "curfew" in 11 cities, 10 of them in Lombardy. The region, one of the most important in the north of the country, already has 172 cases. Veneto, also in the north, counts 32.
The quarantine imposed on these cities affects the lives of more than 50 thousand people. And despair ended up taking over mainly the residents of the outskirts of Milan who literally "robbed" supermarket shelves.
There was even a fight over water bottles and a fight over the last liter of milk. But the most sought after - and desired - product is, without a doubt, alcohol antiseptic gel for hands and masks, which are already starting to be lacking in pharmacies. The supermarkets, however, warn that the supply has already been normalized but the rush to stock up on food continues. Shopping for food on the Amazon website led to a  tilt  to the online platform.
