Sanders says opponent Bloomberg won't thrill US voters

During an event in Las Vegas, a senator and one of the main possible Democratic candidates focused his attention on the billionaire ex-mayor of New York

Democratic US presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said this weekend that Michael Bloomberg will not generate the "excitement and energy" needed to win the White House, focusing his attention on an opponent who has not yet fully entered the fray.and will face Republican President Donald Trump in the November election.
Bloomberg was not at the Las Vegas event and is not competing in Nevada. He is focusing on states whose voting starts on March 3, in the so-called "Super Tuesday", like Virginia, where Bloomberg campaigned on Saturday.
Bloomberg's campaign spokeswoman, Galia Slayen, said Bloomberg raised taxes on the wealthy when he was mayor. "As president, Mike will raise taxes on great wealth, tax income more equitably, close loopholes and reinforce enforcement," she said. "He will do this because he has done it before."
"The truth is that Mayor Bloomberg, with all his money, will not create the kind of excitement and energy we need to get the voter turnout we need to have to beat Donald Trump, " said Sanders at a Democratic gala. .
Sanders, who wants to advance his victory in the New Hampshire primaries and head to head for first place in Iowa, mentioned only the billionaire former New York mayor among his opponents in his Las Vegas speech. He criticized Bloomberg's positions for minimum wage laws, policing, taxing the rich and Wall Street regulations.
