WHO says coronavirus epidemic has reached 'turning point'

The outbreak of the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus has reached a "turning point", said the director general of the World Health Organization (WHO) , Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on Thursday, asking countries to redouble their efforts to contain the dissemination effectively.
Until this Wednesday, the WHO registered 81,109 cases of contamination, of which 78,191 in China , and 2,770 deaths - 2,718 of them in Chinese territory. The report, however, did not mention new countries with confirmed patients in recent days, such as Brazil and Greece.
"This virus has a pandemic potential," Tedros told the press, referring to the possibility of recording deaths on three continents - so far, there have only been cases of death in Asia and Europe. “This is no time to be afraid. It is time to take steps to prevent infections and save lives now ”.
