Coronavirus has reached all countries in the European Union

The outbreak of the new coronavirus reached all 27 countries of the European Union (EU) , the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control reported on Tuesday, 10, after Cyprus registered the first cases of Covid-19.
More than 114,000 cases have been reported worldwide, in addition to 4,000 deaths. After China, the countries most affected are Iran and Italy, with 291 and 463 deaths, respectively.
To contain the outbreak, the Italian government extended the restrictions applied to the northern region throughout the country . The measures issued by decree over the weekend become valid as of this Tuesday and provide for a ban on the movement of people, except for "proven reasons of work" and "serious family or health needs".
Also on Tuesday, the government of Cyprus announced the first two cases of Covid-19 in the country. The patients are a man who traveled to northern Italy and a healthcare professional who recently returned from the UK.
The President of the European Parliament, the Italian David Sassoli, announced his decision to work from home starting this Tuesday “as a precaution”, after spending the weekend in Italy.
"I decided, just as a precaution, to exercise my role as president, from my home in Brussels, according to the 14 days indicated in the protocol," said Sassoli in a statement.
Although no case of coronavirus has yet been detected, the European Parliament has adopted strict preventive measures. This week's plenary session was reduced to just one day and moved from Strasbourg to Brussels.
Several Casa employees are also quarantined. Since Sunday, those in the risk group - such as pregnant women, people over 60, or in poor health - must work from home.
