Hotel collapses in China with 70 people quarantined from coronavirus

So far, 34 have been rescued. Quanzhou City is located in fujian province in the southeast of the country and belongs to the region of the so-called silk route. About 11,000 people in the city are under observation, suspected of being infected with the virus.
With 80 rooms, the Xian hotel was recently transformed into a welcome and quarantine point for people who had contact with covid-19 patients, according to Chinese state media. The collapse occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night, local time in the country. So far it has not been clear what motivated the collapse of the building.
China's health officials say the number of deaths caused by the new coronavirus has reached 3,070 in mainland China, while the number of new infected has now been less than 100 per day. China's National Health Commission announced that 28 people died from the virus on Friday in Hubei province, the most punished in the country. The agency also confirmed 99 new cases of infection. To date, 80,651 people have been confirmed to have contracted coronavirus in mainland China.
According to the committee, this is the first time since January 20 that the number of infected in one day has become less than 100. The authority added that among these new cases of infection, 24 people had remained abroad. The Chinese government is taking strict measures towards people arriving from abroad in an attempt to stem the spread of the virus. Beijing officials are urging people arriving from Japan, South Korea, Iran and Italy to stay at home or stay on intensive observation at designated facilities, regardless of nationality. At the moment, more than 820,000 people are under observation at home and elsewhere in the city.
