Joe Biden just steps away from becoming the Democratic presidential candidate

Former United States  Vice President Joe Biden is getting closer and closer to becoming the Democratic Party's candidate for President. At 77, the former Delaware senator consolidated his candidacy on Tuesday 10, when he won the race for socialist Bernie Sanders in at least four of the six contested states.
"There doesn't seem to be much more that Bernie Sanders can do to change the current scenario, unless some unexpected dramatic event happens, such as a Biden medical scare or a huge gaffe," says University of Missouri political scientist Peverill Squire. "As of now, the next state primaries are also not looking in favor of Sanders."
The next states to vote are Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Ohio on March 17. Joe Biden is ahead in the polls in all of them and has great chances of further solidifying his campaign with the votes of the more moderate voters and, mainly, African-Americans from these regions.
Biden seems to please black Americans for his greater ability to defeat President Donald Trump, as well as for his loyalty to former President Barack Obama . Meanwhile, Sanders is seen by many as a more radical candidate, representing only the Democratic extreme left.
"The turning point for Joe Biden was the primaries in South Carolina, when he won for the first time and knew how to use that success to his advantage," says sociologist Robert Y. Shapiro of Columbia University.
