Inflation in Venezuela exceeds 1 million percent
Milu de Almeida, a councilor of the communities in Venezuela, says that people who earn a minimum wage can not get to the products and gives an example: "a liter of milk is in 12 thousand [bolivars], and the minimum wage is 40 thousand ".
Many traders, as they no longer trust the value of the official currency, demand trade in dollars, "which is illegal," Milu said.
A joint meeting is being held today (3) in New York between the International Contact Group for Venezuela and the Lima Group. The objective of the meeting is to contribute to a peaceful and democratic solution to the crisis in the country.
