Underdog Democrat Eric Swalwell ends campaign for White House

Rep. Eric Swalwell became on Monday the first major candidate to drop out of the contest for the Democratic nomination in the presidential race, ending an unlikely campaign and fueled in part by his attempts to investigate the Republican President Donald Trump.
"I thank my supporters and friends, my team, and my family for making this journey possible," said Swalwell, 38 years, on Twitter. He added that he planned to run for re-election to Congress in your district in California.
He said he's not ready to declare your support in tumultuous dispute of the Democratic Party to face Trump in the next presidential election, scheduled for November 2020.
Swalwell was one of the most aggressive in the Democrats ' debate last month, challenging the former Vice-President Joe Biden, of 76 years, to pass the baton on to a younger generation.
But the approach didn't help improve your position in the opinion polls among the more than 20 Democrats seeking the party's nomination. He ran the risk of not fulfilling the necessary requirements so that he could appear in the next round of discussions next month.
