Child found dead on French plane flight landing gear

The body of a child was found on Wednesday, 8, on the landing gear of an Air France plane at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris. The aircraft came from the city of Abidjan, in Côte d'Ivoire,according to information released by the airline.

"Air France confirms that the lifeless body of a clandestine passenger was found on the landing gear of the aircraft carrying out flight AF703, between Abidjan and Paris-Charles de Gaulle, on January 7, 2020," the company said in a statement, in which it expressed its condolences for death.

Police confirmed to French public television that the child, apparently 10 years old, was found at 6 a.m. on the plane's left landing gear. Prosecutors in Bobigny, on the outskirts of Paris, have opened an investigation into the case.

In recent years, several illegal passengers from Africa, especially children and adolescents, have been found frozen in the outside parts of aircraft, especially on landing gears, where there is no temperature protection of up to 50 degrees below zero when the average altitude of the plane is reached.
