Iran's president talks about 'expelling all American forces' from the region

Iran's President Hassan Rouhanisaid Wednesday, 8, after his country's attacks on two U.S. bases in Iraq, that the Tehran regime's "final response" to the death of Iranian General Qasen Soleimani will be "driving out all U.S. forces in the region."
Considered Iran's second most important figure, below only Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,Soleimani was killed in the attack by an American drone on January 3 in Baghdad, ordered by U.S. President Donald Trump.
"General Soleimani heroically fought ISIS, Al Nusrah, Al Qaeda et al. If it were not for their war on terror, European capitals would be in great danger now. Our final response to his assassination will be to expel all American forces from the region," Rouhani wrote on his Twitter account.
Earlier on Wednesday, Khamenei said the attacks were a "slap in the face" of the United States. "The corrupt U.S. presence in the region must end," the Iranian supreme leader said in a speech broadcast on the country's state television. The ayatollah also again extolled Qasem Soleimani, who classified him as "a brave warrior" and a "dear friend".
Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif called Tuesday's action "proportionate self-defense measures." "We don't want escalation or war, but we will defend ourselves against any aggression," he wrote on Twitter.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, for its part, declared that Tehran's missiles are the first step in "harsh revenge" against the Americans for the general's death. The group also threatened to attack within the U.S. territory, as well as the cities of Haifa, Israel, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates if Iran is bombed.
Donald Trump, who after the bombings wrote on Twitter "so far, all right," is expected to rule on Wednesday about Iran's attack on his country's military bases.
