Trump celebrates U.S.-China trade deal, but maintains tariffs
U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday (15/1) signed a "crucial" trade agreement with China at a ceremony in Washington with China's top negotiator, Liu He.
"Today we took a crucial step, one that we had not taken before with China," which ensured a "fair and reciprocal exchange,"" Trump said at the White House ceremony.
He assured that the pact contains "substantial and enforceable commitments", but said that the tariffs imposed on Chinese products will continue until the "phase two" is completed.
Trump also announced that he will visit China in a "not too distant future."
