Bloomberg sets record for advertising spending in US election campaign

Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States , the ex-mayor of New York and billionaire Michael Bloomberg broke all records in campaign advertising by spending the staggering amount of $ 364.3 million in the sector, according to a report released on Friday. -21, by the Advertising Analytics consultancy.
"Bloomberg surpassed the spending record set by [former President Barack] Obama in 2012 at $ 338.3 million, making him the highest-spending candidate of all time," he said in a consultancy bulletin. Advertising Analytics reported, however, that Obama's spending has not been adjusted in constant terms.
The amounts indicated refer only to the amount allocated to traditional radio and television advertising.
Bloomberg, who aspires to the Democratic nomination to face American President Donald Trump in November, is also a leader in digital advertising. Just last week, he spent $ 14.5 million on Facebook and Google ads, more than ten times more than all of his opponents combined.
The total amount does not include expenses from outside groups that are not formally linked to political parties, known as Super PACs, but who spend a lot during the election season in support or opposition to specific candidates.
