US, China and Russia make the world more dangerous, says German president

The President of Germany , Frank-Walter Steinmeier, accused this Friday, the 14, the United States , China and Russia of feeding distrust and insecurity in the world with a competition that threatens to generate a new nuclear arms race.
At the annual Munich Security Conference, the German leader lamented the approach of the three great powers in global affairs and criticized American President Donald Trump for his promise to “make America great again” - reference to the Make America campaign slogan Great Again.
"Big again, even at the expense of neighbors and partners," said Steinmeier, whose comments on foreign policy are prestigious because of his former position as foreign minister.
A report by the British International Institute for Strategic Studies, also released on Friday, found that world military spending increased by 4% in 2019, the most expressive increase in 10 years.
In his opening speech to the conference, the German president said that Russia politicized "military force and the violent change of borders on the European continent" and that China only accepts international law "when it does not contradict its own interests".
China presented with great pomp a launcher of "supersonic gliders", the DF-17, during the parade for the 70th anniversary of the communist regime. In December, the Russian Army announced the incorporation of its first supersonic Avangard missiles , one of the weapons praised by President Vladimir Putin as "invincible" and "undetectable".
Steinmeier also added that the United States "rejects the idea of an international community".
In the current context, the two countries with the largest military budgets on the planet, the United States ($ 685 billion) and China ($ 181 billion), continue to exponentially increase these expenditures, with a 6.6% increase in 2019 in comparison with 2018. In response, Steinmeier warned that Germany should follow the same path: increase defense spending to contribute more to European security.
