Decrease your carbon footprint!

Have you ever thought about the impact it causes to the environment with only their routine activities, such as driving the car and turn on the lights at home?

The so-called "carbon footprint" is a measure calculated in terms of energy consumption, which corresponds to the total amount of carbon dioxide we produce, usually expressed in tons.

The trend is that citizens of most industrialized countries, such as North America and Europe, have much larger carbon footprints than the citizens of other countries, such as Africa and the Middle East.

However, we are all responsible for our share of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG), so I decided to share with you some strategies so that together we can reduce our carbon footprint!

With these simple steps, you can reduce the daily energy consumption and contribute to cleaner air!

1 When making coffee or tea, only boil the amount of water you need - do not overfill the kettle.

2 Wash your clothes in cold water - the hot water cycle of the washing machine spends much more energy. Using cold water, your clothes will limpinhas anyway!

3 For the same reason, leave the dishwasher.

Ok, doing the dishes after dinner can be boring, but you still pollutes less and save electricity bill! (But we must be careful with the amount of water used!)

4 Ride more! Whenever possible, take the bike instead of using the car. Another great option is to walk!

5 Avoid buying imported fruits and vegetables: a "food mileage" is one of the hidden in your overall carbon emission factors.
